Project: St. Pete Pier
Location: St. Petersburg, FL

Photographing the St. Pete Pier meant capturing more than the architecture itself. As a major public space along St. Petersburg’s waterfront, the project is shaped just as much by the people moving through it as the buildings, landscape, and connection to Tampa Bay. We photographed the Pier throughout the day, focusing on how people gather, explore, and interact with the different spaces as the light and energy of the waterfront change.

Capturing the full scale of the project also required us to think beyond traditional architectural photography. We photographed from a helicopter over Tampa Bay to find the elevated perspectives that best communicate the Pier’s relationship to the water, downtown St. Petersburg, and the larger waterfront. From those expansive aerial views to smaller moments at ground level, the goal was to create a complete visual story of the St. Pete Pier as an active piece of civic architecture and public realm.
